The Working for Independence Program was started in 2008 to help people with disabilities who have employment goals find and utilize the services available to help them accomplish their goals. The program has three main components:
- Youth in Transition Project: This is a collaborative project with the University of Nevada Reno and the Americorps Vista program. We present four part seminars to transition-age students in the classroom and introduce soft skills necessary for finding a job. Some of the skills covered are job searching, resume writing, and interviewing skills.
- Customized Employment Services: R.A.G.E. and their partners will assist individuals seeking employment to develop a plan of actio to reach their goals, the steps needed to reach their goals, and any other service providers that may assist them along the way.
- Employment Skills Training Classroom: (Comming Soon) We have a small classroom available to provide soft and hard skills training related to employment for individuals or groups (up to four people). People with disabilities can come in for assistance with writing a resume or for training on topics such as workplace communication.
