RAGE in this sense adjusts to mean - Rebuilding Athletic Goals with Energy
as this is a fitness and/or weightlifting program designed for individuals 18 years and older with disabilities.  The goal of RAGE is to introduce them to another platform of independence for quality of life in an adaptive, recreational setting.  It enhances a healthier lifestyle with basic education in the mechanics of weighlifting and fitness training.

Participants will be interviewed and evaluated by a physical therapist in order to design an individualized program by taking their strengths and weaknesses into consideration.

The program offers:
    - Nutrition consultation and supplement review.

    - Education and instruction to both the consumer and the attendant for safe positioning and posture and body mechanics for muscle strength and growth.

    - Instruction in application and use of universal strapping for modified programs.

    - An opportunity for socialization and interaction with other health conscious individuals.

    - A healthy, leisure outlet to build self esteem and confidence.

RAGE has also offered a scholarship program for eligible consumers with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury, spina bifida, or multiple sclerosis. It begins with a 2 week interview/eligibility period, then moves to a 13 week program at Gold's Gym wtih one fitness mentoring session per week, if all requirements and commitments in the initial 2 week period are met.

In addition to fitness mentoring, recipients receive a fitness journal to track their progress, healthy eating tips and resources for various, adaptive recreation programs.
